If you need to cancel a DTE Energy payment, you can do so up to one business day before the scheduled payment date. Unfortunately, same-day payments cannot be canceled or modified online. To make changes to a scheduled payment, simply sign in to your DTE Energy account on their website. DTE Energy provides a convenient platform for managing your energy payments efficiently. It's important to note that if you choose to cancel through Xpendy, there may be associated costs.
Your utility must mail a shut-off notice at least 10 days before turning off your power for nonpayment. It must also try to contact you by phone the day before the shut-off. You can sign up for a payment plan with your utility.
For customers who are having trouble paying their final balance by the due date, dte provides an additional 60 day grace period before reporting any unpaid balance to credit reporting agencies.
